Dinosaurs are a group of reptiles of various sizes, belonging to the subclass of archosaurs, which dominated the Earth’s ecosystem for over 160 million years and appeared about 240 million years ago.
They became utterly extinct about 65 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period, and are known to us only through fossil remains studied by paleontologists.
