Papaya is a big pyriform berry with smooth yellow-green skin and firm orange pulp, whose taste recalls the one of melon. In the center are present tiny black seeds.
There are many varieties of papaya: in the world are cultivated about 50 different qualities, mainly for their aroma.
The most commercially available ones are “Solo” papaya and Miradol, characterized by significant and pulpy fruits with a high sugar level.

The nutritional profile is fascinating because it is a fruit rich in vitamins A, C, group B, folic acid and E, and antioxidants, especially carotenoids and bioflavonoids.
